Sub-Zero Weather Strikes England As Snowfall Falls


A cleaning of snow has dropped across places of the UK, with more predicted over the few days as many places are held by sub-zero temperature ranges. The cold weather are contrary to the large rain fall and breezy climate that performed chaos in some places of the Midlands and in North Wales at the begin of the week. Around 1cm of snow has resolved in places of northern Britain and Scotland, such as Cumbria, Teesside and Nation Durham, while 2.5cm has protected the Pennines and the Southeast Uplands. In the Midlands, southern Britain and Wales temperature ranges are below cold, and as low as -5C in some places. The cold climate is predicted to last for the next few days, with more snow predicted in north of manchester and Scotland the next day evening. The cold temperature ranges have introduced with them a chance of ice, following the newest large rain fall. The Met Office released a low-level caution of tornados, impacting much of the UK for the day. It said: "Due to the newest wet climate there is an improved chance of icy areas, even on streets that have been handled with sodium, where water run off may clean off any previously sodium treatment. "The public should be aware of the chance of ice on streets and streets." Patroller Andrew Cruz cautioned the few days would be "winter's first serious test for motorists and their cars". "Ice is the real issue, as it's been so wet lately, and it's very hard to differentiate between a mess on the road and dangerous black ice," he said.
